Best Appliances Tips: How to Perfect Christmas Dinner
All you need for a perfect Turkey dinner is a little planning and some of your best appliances.

Cranberry sauce, stuffing, and turkey are just a few key ingredients in a successful holiday get-together. Add in some wine and you’ve got the perfect recipe. However, the prep, the cooking, and the clean up can add a little stress to your plate if you’re not prepared. If it’s your turn to host the family Christmas dinner this year, and the thought has your head spinning, don’t worry. With a couple tips, your best appliances, and a dash of luck, this year’s holiday feast will turn out perfectly.

3-4 Weeks Before Christmas

1. Determine the Guest List

If you’re on the hook for dinner Christmas Day, you’ll want an accurate head count of all your potential guests. Besides knowing how much food to make, you can also get an idea of how you can organize your home to accommodate your guest list. Once you’ve got a rough idea, plan for a few extra last minute attendees. You don’t want to be the first person to run out of food at a Christmas dinner party. Plus leftover turkey dinner makes the best meal the following days.

2. Prepare the Kitchen Ahead of Time

The most important thing you can do to save your Christmas-day sanity is plan ahead. If you’ve always wanted a second oven or dishwasher, now is the perfect time to get some of those best appliances on order. When the oven real estate is at its prime on Christmas day, you’ll be so thankful for the extra cooking spaces.

3. Get Ahead of the Cleaning and Organizing

Now is also the time to clean and organize the cupboards and appliances. If you’re like most of us, the insides of the kitchen cupboards and Kamloops appliances in your kitchen don’t always get the attention they deserve. Start by cleaning out the fridge and making a grocery list of all the items you’ll need for the big feast. Once you’ve done that, move over to the cupboards, adding items to your list as you clean and organize each one. To finish up your cleaning extravaganza, clean out the inside of your oven to prevent a smoky kitchen come go time.

A Few Days Before Christmas

1. Prep the Food

Now that your kitchen is clean and organized, get a jump-start on the holiday dinner. Some of the things that you can prep ahead of time include:

  • Potatoes – Peel, chop, and place in a water-filled container in the fridge.
  • Turkey – If your turkey is frozen, make sure to take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge two days before the dinner is scheduled.
  • Brussel Sprouts – Blanche and refresh. Boil the sprouts for a few minutes, run cold water over top to stop them from cooking too much, then tuck in the fridge until Christmas day. Then just reheat in a pan and serve.
  • Stuffing – Prep your stuffing in advance and place in the freezer. When it’s time to stuff your turkey, pull it out and get stuffing. Easy, right?
  • Desserts – Christmas pudding can be made days, weeks, or months ahead. Simply steam for a few hours on Christmas Day, and voila – dessert is ready to go. A steam oven is one of the best appliances for this.
